LANNA
Lanna region is Nothern Thailand consisting of 8 provinces; Chiangmai, Chiagrai, Payao, Phare, Nan, Lampang, Lampoon and Mae Hongsorn. Lanna region is indeed taking some part of Tak, Sukhothai and Uttaradit province as well. We have our own language and culture.
In the old day, Lanna Region is an independent Kingdom which maintain very close relationship with Lanxang Kingdom of Lao and later the Kingdom was merged to Siam Kiingdom during the King Rama V regime. Old Lanna region covered from Xishuangbana in Yannan province of China, some part of Lao and Myanma. Due to geographical and political reasons, Lanna were influent by Lao, Siamese, Burmese and Chinese.
Therefore, our food are the mixture of culture between Lanna itself, Lao, Siamese, Burmese and Chinese. Lanna cuisine have it own identity and character and importantly it possesses natural flavour because Lanna foods rely very much upon raw material from nature. Needless to say, our foods are appropriate for health conscious consumer.
